Chad welcomes political declaration issued by Sudanese president

KHARTOUM, June 23, 2004 (SUNA) -- Chadian President Idris Deby has welcomed the political declaration issued by President of the Republic Gen. Omer Al-Bashir recently on realization of security and stability in Darfur.

A statement issued by the office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Chad said the declaration was a strong message for boosting the deeply-rooted relations between the governments and peoples of Sudan and Chad.

The statement said the decisions issued by President Al-Bashir constituted an important progress towards solution of the crisis in Darfur.

The statement referred to President's Al-Bashir affirmation that Sudan will not tolerate any act to destabilize Chad. The statement reaffirmed the Chadian Government's readiness to work for normalization of the situation in Darfur.
